Aims

Amateur Radio is a hobby that is unique in that it is defined by international treaty signed by over 90 nations.

It is the primary aim of Kingdom Amateur Radio Society to promote and encourage participation in the Amateur Radio Service which is defined to be:

“A service of self-training, intercommunications, and technical investigation carried on by amateurs; that is, by duly authorized persons interested in radio technique solely with a personal aim and without pecuniary interest.”

Objectives

To attract and encourage new entrants of all ages to Amateur Radio. 

To educate and raise awareness of Amateur Radio through public demonstrations and by means of programmes such as Jamboree on the Air, Lighthouses on the Air, Islands on the Air.

To provide support and training to those who desire to hold an Amateur Radio transmitting Licence.

To provide facilities, structure and support in helping club members to participate in facets of Amateur Radio which might otherwise be difficult for them undertake themselves.

To provide ongoing learning opportunities for all club members whatever their level of expertise.

To provide a base for developing both local and international friendship amongst those like-minded individuals who are interested in Amateur Radio.

To work with other local radio clubs where possible in the promotion of all the above activities.

To provide a social base for all those who are interested in Amateur Radio in Fife.

To encourage all members to actively contribute to club activities according to their circumstances.
